Ubud Full Day Tour: River Rafting, Bali Swing & Holy Spring Temple
This full-day tour starts with two of Ubud's most active experiences, then slows down through a jungle sanctuary, a sacred temple, and rice terraces. A good fit if you want both physical activity and cultural stops in one day. Your first stop is Ayung River Rafting, the longest white-water rafting route in Bali. The Ayung River runs 12 kilometers through a steep jungle gorge with Class II and III rapids, carved rock walls, and small waterfalls along the banks. The rafting fee is paid directly at the venue. From the river, you head to Bali Swing, where you swing out over the jungle canopy and valley below. Several swing heights are available, from gentle arcs to longer drops above the treetops. Next, you walk through Ubud Monkey Forest, a protected jungle sanctuary home to over 700 long-tailed macaques. The forest holds three active Hindu temples dating back to the 14th century, set among roots and stone carvings along shaded paths. From there, you visit Tirta Empul (Holy Spring Temple), one of Bali's most active places of worship. Built in 962 AD, the temple complex centers on a large spring-fed pool where Balinese Hindus perform melukat, a ritual water purification ceremony. You watch the ceremony from the courtyard or enter the pools yourself if you choose to participate. The day ends at Tegalalang Rice Terrace, one of Bali's most photographed landscapes. The terraced fields north of Ubud follow the contours of a deep valley, shaped by a traditional Balinese irrigation system called subak that dates back to the 9th century.
