East Bali Full Day Tour: Snorkeling, Bat Cave Temple & Heaven's Gate
This full-day tour combines two experiences most East Bali tours skip together: open-water snorkeling and a back-to-back temple and palace route. Your first stop is Blue Lagoon Beach for snorkeling. The bay sits on East Bali's coastline and holds some of the island's clearest inshore water. You swim over coral gardens with tropical fish directly from the beach, no boat required. From the coast, you head inland to Goa Lawah (Bat Cave Temple), one of Bali's six sacred directional temples. Thousands of bats live inside the cave at the back of the temple complex. The site has been an active place of worship since the 11th century. Next, you visit Tirta Gangga Water Palace, built by the King of Karangasem in 1948. Walk through pools lined with stone statues, stepping stone paths over koi ponds, and tiered gardens with the mountains in the background. The day ends at Lempuyang Temple for the famous Heaven's Gate. The split stone gate frames Mount Agung directly behind it, one of the most recognized views on the island.
