East Bali Full Day Tour: Besakih Temple, Ancient Temples & Cave Waterfall

This full-day tour covers East Bali's most significant cultural and spiritual sites, from the island's largest temple complex to a centuries-old kingdom temple, a traditional village, and a cave waterfall. Your first stop is Besakih Temple, Bali's Mother Temple. Built on the slopes of Mount Agung at 1,000 meters above sea level, this is the largest and most sacred Hindu temple on the island. The complex holds over 80 individual temples spread across the mountainside. From there, you visit Kehen Temple in Bangli. This 9th-century temple served as the state temple of the Bangli Kingdom. Its tiered pagodas, carved stone walls, and ancient waringin tree at the entrance make it one of the most architecturally detailed temples in Bali. Mid-tour, you walk through Penglipuran Village, a traditional Balinese village that has kept its original layout and customs intact for centuries. Every house follows the same architectural pattern, the main road is closed to motorized vehicles, and residents still follow traditional Balinese laws and ceremonies. The day ends at Tukad Cepung Waterfall, set inside a narrow cave gorge. When sunlight breaks through the rock opening above, the light and mist create one of East Bali's most striking natural scenes.
